The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) may have failed to save and maintain the handful of lakes under its control in the City, but that did not it from announcing, in its budget for 2014-15, a rather ambitious plan to develop new lakes at a cost of Rs 48 crore.
