Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Village Panchayat of Top VsThe State of Maharashtra dated 09/02/2015 regarding regarding installation of municipal solild waste (MSW) plant at village Top, District Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
The order mentions that "The information given in tabular form by Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC), shows that MSW (conversion of waste energy through pyrolysis processing) project, is likely to be implemented within a short span at the site available at Kasaba-Bawada.In such situation, landfill site of Village Top will be required only for dumping nondegradable wastes and will not be utilized for any other purpose".
