Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Ratandeep Rangari Vs. State of Maharashtra & Ors. dated 01/02/2016 regarding coal quality standard.
MoEF was to coordinate with all the State Pollution Control Boards to ensure compliance of the directions to SPCB and CPCB to incorporate the necessary condition for supply/use of required coal quality standard i.e. coal producing ash not exceeding 34% in the consent granted to coal mines/companies and coal based thermal power plants respectively, as per the MoEF Office Memorandum dated 26th August, 2015 within a period of one month. Compliance report was required to be filed by MoEF by 1st January, 2016. Nothing has yet happened.
