Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jagannath Mane Vs Ministry of Forest and Environment & Others dated 02/05/2016 regarding illegal mining and stone crushing between villages of Selda and Katora of Sanavad Tehsils of Khargoan District of State of Madhya Pradesh.
The Tribunal rules that there is no illegal mining as alleged in the application and also that M/s Sancheti is in violation of the Air and Water Act and had installed and operated the stone crusher for some period and thereby caused environmental degradation. M/s Sancheti is directed to pay environmental compensation of Rs. 100000/- (Rupees one lakh only) to the Pollution Control Board within one month from today.
