Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Joydeep Mukherjee & Others Vs Chief Secretary, Govt. of West Bengal & Others dated 05/05/2016 regarding discharge of waste water into a pond by M/s Jupiter Alloys and Steel (India) Limited, PO- Sahaganj, District Hooghly, West Bengal. The Tribunal in its Judgement dismisses the Application and quotes the reports of the West Bengal Pollution Control Board and the Central Pollution Control Board which found the allegations of air and noise pollution, and discharge of waste water and pollutants into the pond by the industry - Jupiter Alloy’s and Steel (India) Ltd. incorrect.
