Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Sunit Kumar Mallick Chowdhury Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 07/02/2017 regarding filling up of a waterbody (Ukil Bheri) by a housing society in Kolkata to construct a building.
NGT directs the Additional District Magistrate (LR) South 24 Parganas and Officer-in-Charge, Pragati Maidan P.S. to inspect the area and ascertain as to whether the allegations are correct or not. If any construction is going on in the manner alleged, it shall be stopped forthwith.
