Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anil Kumar Singhal Vs. Union of India & Others dated 15/02/2017 regarding untreated sewage dumped in river Ganga.
NGT directs a Committee to be constituted which shall visit Garh Mukteshwar and Brij Ghat and shall report to the Tribunal whether 58 Kms. sewer pipeline has been actually laid down and is operational. The Committee would be entirely free to make its observations and inspect any area that it may desire with the primary object of ensuring that there is no pollution on river Ganga and even make observations with regard to the suggestions made by the joint inspection team.
