Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Joydeep Mukherjee Vs Pollution Control Board dated 15/02/2017 regarding illegal operation of brick fields in the State of Jharkhand without obtaining consent from the State Pollution Control Board, Jharkhand.
NGT directs the brick kiln units (which have been directed to be closed or in the process of issuing such closure order due to absence of EC consent to establish and consent to operate) to pay an environmental compensation of Rs. 1.5 lakh and Rs.1.00 lakh, as the case may be, depending upon the category under which they fall.
