Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of D. Kupendra Reddy Vs. State of Karnataka & Others dated 22/08/2017 regarding dumping of sewage in Bellandur lake, Karnataka. Counsel appearing for the State of Karnataka submits that he would place before the Tribunal a complete action plan, particularly in relation to:
1. Removal of silt from the lake
2. Treatment of the sewage which is going into the lake, untreated or partially treated
3. Establishment of STPs by all the residential complexes around/near the lake.
NGT directs that all the officers shall personally inspect the sites before placing the facts and the proposed action plan before the Tribunal. All the officers would be present before the Tribunal on the next date of hearing (08/09/2017).
