Order of the Delhi High Court in the matter of Kusum Sehgal Vs The North Zone Municipal Corporation & Others dated 13/03/2018 regarding illegal and unauthorized construction on properties declared as heritage sites in Delhi.

Status reports filed by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation disclose that huge illegal and unauthorized constructions have been raised with impunity by the persons, which has necessitated massive demolition actions to bring them to the ground. Delhi High Court diects the Commissioner of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation to examine the matter and ensure that appropriate proceedings are drawn up and action is taken against the officers responsible for the unauthorized constructions and a status report filed in this regard. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation shall also place a report with regard to the expenses entailed in the demolition action.
