Order of the High Court of Kerala in the matter of Sangita Iyer Vs Guruvayur Devasom & Others dated 17/02/2025.

The Kerala High Court directed the Deputy Administrator (Livestock) of Guruvayoor Devaswom to file a detailed affidavit explaining the procedures being followed in Guruvayur Devaswom for booking and transporting elephants from Punnathur Aanakkotta in connection with temple festivals in other temples, and also to ensure that the elephants are provided with the required quantity of feed, as per the statutory requirements, when they are outside Punnathur Aanakkotta.

Order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the matter of DLF City Residents Welfare Association & Others Vs State of Haryana & Others dated 13/02/2025.

The matter related to unauthorized constructions in areas of DLF City, Gurugram. Some of the illegal and unauthorized construction included five to seven storey buildings/ structures in DLF City, Gurugram.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jagdev Vs Lieutenant Governor of Delhi & Others dated 06/02/2025.

The NGT, October 17, 2019 had directed that the flood plains of a river cannot be allowed to be occupied as such occupation could damage the ecology of the river and has directed to keep river Yamuna free from encroachment. The court had also directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and Forest Department to take action in accordance with law.

Order of the High Court of Gujarat in the matter of Kandhal Sarmanbhai Jadeja Vs State of Gujarat & Others dated 05/02/2025.

The petitioner, Kandhal Sarmanbhai Jadeja is a sitting member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) elected from 84 Kutiyana – Ranavav constituency of District Porbandar. Upon having come to know about the discrepancy in relation to administration of the Nagarpalika for utilization of grant, given for public utility purposes by the state, the petitioner herein made a representation to Chief Officer.

Action taken report by the state of Rajasthan in the matter of Omprakash Somani Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 05/02/2025.

The report was in compliance with the NGT order, January 13, 2025 (central zonal bench, Bhopal).

The court was informed that the state authorities, police and the Panchayati Raj department undertook multiple operations to remove illegal encroachments on Dharma talab, Raila, and adjacent areas between October 2023 and January 2025.

The Gauhati High Court order dated February 4, 2024 regarding destruction of Tipam Hills by coal smugglers.

A PIL was registered by the HC taking into consideration a newspaper report dated April 5, 2018 published in a newspaper wherein it was reported that illegal activities were carried out by coal smugglers in the Tipam Hills area under Digboi Sub-Division resulting in destruction of historic Tipam Hills.

The matter related to flooding, water logging and drainage issues in the Mundka village area on the account of torrential rain.

The petition- W.P.(C) 13190/2024, filed by the Maharani Bagh Co-Operative Housing Building and Welfare Society Ltd. & Anr. seeks demolition of illegal constructions on both sides of Taimoor Nagar and Khizarbad drains as well as removal of all the silt and garbage up to Yamuna Flood plains.

Order of the Gauhati High Court in the matter of In Re-Dima Hasao Tragedy Vs The Chief Secretary, Assam & Others dated 28/01/2025. Pursuant to the order passed by the Gauhati High Court dated January 27, 2025, the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition was being registered.
