The NGT, October 17, 2019 had directed that the flood plains of a river cannot be allowed to be occupied as such occupation could damage the ecology of the river and has directed to keep river Yamuna free from encroachment. The court had also directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and Forest Department to take action in accordance with law.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Vs Municipal Corporation of Delhi & Others dated 31/07/2023.

The appeal was filed by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) seeking vacation of the stay granted by the NGT by order dated December 14, 2017 whereby NGT had directed that the appellant would not place or award work for building a commercial building in the impugned land measuring 147 acres at Ranikhera-Mundka, Delhi.

The matter related to a stagnant open drain in Vasant Kunj. A ditch created behind a society in Vasant Kunj to resolve the issue of waterlogging during the rainy season was in an unhygienic condition due to sewer/drain water being discharged for an unauthorised drain from village Mahipalpur.

The matter related to the proposed construction of a commercial complex project of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation at Bhikaji Cama Place.

Based on the site visit and perusal of the information submitted by the DMRC, the committee noted that no construction work for the proposed commercial complex was found and only barricading had been made to secure the land.

First status report of Integrated Drain Management Cell (IDMC) in Original Application No. 06/2012 in the matter of Manoj Mishra Vs Union of India & Others.

The National Green Tribunal in its order dated March 5, 2020 had directed the Delhi government to set up an "Integrated Drain Management Cell" under Chief Secretary for remediation and management of all drains of Delhi with representatives of all agencies/ departments/ urban local departments owning such drains not below the level of Chief Engineer dealing with the management of drains to the IDMC.
