Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Odisha Vikash Parishad Vs Union of India & Others dated 22/06/2020.

The SC in its order of June 18, 2020 had restrained holding of the Rath Yatra this year in view of the danger presented by the gathering of 10 to 12 lakhs of devotees for a period of 10-12 days. The apex court observed that any spread of the Coronavirus due to the Rath Yatra would be disastrous due to the large number of persons and the impossibility of tracking all the infected people after they have gone back to their respective homes.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: The proper treatment of COVID-19 patients and dignified handling of dead bodies in the hospitals dated 19/06/2020.

The SC directed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to constitute an expert committee to inspect, supervise and issue necessary directions to all government hospitals, Covid hospitals and other hospitals in NCT of Delhi taking care of Covid patients. The Expert Committees should ensure that at least one visit in each hospital be done weekly.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 15/06/2020 regarding steps to control vehicular pollution. A bunch of cases on similar matters were clubbed together and heard by Justices Arun Mishra and S. Abdul Nazeer. The cases ranged from registration of diesel vehicles/machines/equipments of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) for public purpose to registration of BS-IV vehicles.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of 'In Re the proper treatment of COVID19 patients and dignified handling of dead bodies in the hospitals'dated 12/06/2020.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re Contagion of COVID19 virus in children protection homes dated 11/06/2020. Around 35 out of 57 children in a Protection Home at Royapuram, Chennai have been infected with COVID-19 and are hospitalized. The remaining children have been shifted to an adjacent building. The Supreme Court directed the Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, state of Tamil Nadu and secretary to Social Welfare Department to submit a report giving details of the reasons for the spread of COVID-19 in the protection home.

The Supreme Court (SC) on June 9, 2020 directed all the states and Union Territories (UTs) to 'consider' withdrawal of prosecution and complaints under Section 51 of Disaster Management Act and other related offences lodged against the migrant labourers "alleged to have violated measures of lockdown by moving on roads during the period of lockdown enforced under Disaster Management Act, 2005."
