Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation Vs Vanashakti Public Trust & Others dated 13/02/2018 regarding pollution of Ulhas river as well as Walduni river, Ulhasnagar, Thane District, Maharashtra. It is submitted by the counsel for Vanashakti Public Trust that NEERI has given a proposal in February, 2017 with regard to certain short term measures for reducing pollution levels in the area. Supreme Court directs Additional Solicitor General to inform the Court on the status of the proposal given by NEERI.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhash Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 25/01/2018 regarding air pollution in the cities of Kolkata and Howrah. NGT directs that a comprehensive study of the ambient air quality should be undertaken by a Committee which shall be headed by the Regional Officer of the CPCB, who shall monitor the work of the Committee and submit a regular report.
