The matter related to delay in payment of compensation to agriculturalists, awarded by the Karnataka High Court for the acquisition of their lands under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 for Malprabha Reservoir Project. The SC directed issuance of notice on the applications for condonation of delay in filing the Special Leave Petitions.

Order of the High Court of Karnataka at Bengaluru dated 09/12/2020 in the matter of All India Council of Trade Unions Vs Union of India & Others.

The matter dealt with discharge of untreated effluents from the dyeing units and other companies into the river Amaravathi - polluting the entire river.

Justice N. Kirubakaran and Justice B. Pugalendhi noted that throughout the country, the industries were polluting the water bodies by letting in untreated industrial effluents. Many of the water bodies were completely polluted and they have become sewage channels.

Order of the High Court of Manipur in the matter of The Manipur Valley Village Reserve Forest Rights Protection Association Vs State of Manipur & Others dated 03/06/2020.

The petitioner had filed a PIL on the issue of forests and reserved forests of Manipur, which were being denuded and illegally encroached for various activities. The order noted that the "destruction of forests and invasion/intrusion of human beings in the forest domain displacing forest species appears to be a major factor for the series of diseases like the present COVID-19."
