Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tribunal on its own Motion Vs. State of Uttarkhand & Others dated 18/05/2018 regarding complete disregard of environmental laws and pollution norms by large numbers of industries established in ELDECO (SIDCUL) industrial park which are situated in the vicinity of the village Siddh Garbyang, Kalyanpur, Tehsil-Sitarganj, District-Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. There are more than 100 industries coming up in the area. Some of these industrial units are spewing black soot which deposite black dust on the houses of the villagers.
NGT directs CPCB to inspect the polluting industries and take samples of water/air. On confirmation about they being polluting, give a list of such industry to SIDCUL. Upon receipts of such list SIDCUL and Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board shall immediately stop the functioning of such industries.
