Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding violation of Environmental Clearance conditions by M/s. Magic Info Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in setting up a housing project, Gurugram, Haryana, 19/02/2019 [1]

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vijay Kumar Chugh Vs M/s. Magic Info Solutions Pvt. Ltd. & Others dated 19/02/2019 regarding violation of Environmental Clearance conditions by M/s. Magic Info Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in setting up a housing project at Sector 104, Gurugram. According to the applicant, sewerage was being collected in the collection sump. Sewerage disposal was unscientific. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) water supply was not connected with the project.

A report submitted before the Tribunal shows that Conditions of Environmental Clearance include the provision for domestic water supply, treatment of water by de-centralized treatment and reuse of the recycled water for flushing, gardening, etc. It was found that water was being provided by tankers and fresh water was being used for flushing and DG set.

National Green Tribunal directs a report to be submitted which would consider whether the sewage taken by tankers to the centralized facility could be verified from a document available with the project proponent, whether use of fresh water has been stopped for flushing and only recycled water was being used by recycled water. Also BOD content should be less than 10 mg/l which needs to be verified.
