Question raised in Lok Sabha on Rise in Ozone Levels, 28/06/2019. The monitoring data of ozone in Delhi-NCR is regularly displayed on Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) website on real time basis.

As many as 153 waterbodies in Gurugram district of Haryana have practically vanished and are beyond recovery or revival says this report submitted by Gurugram Municipal Development Authority (GMDA) to the National Green Tribunal on May 8, 2019

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vivek Kamboj & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 23/04/2019 regarding solid waste management in Gurgaon, Haryana. The NGT expressed its displeasure at the "incapacity, incompetence and unwillingness of the Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon to perform its duty to handle solid waste in a scientific manner" and said the case has been pending for the last four years with the local authorities not performing their job.

Gurgaon: The total number of swine flu cases recorded in the city has gone up to 61 in the past five months. This is the highest number of confirmed cases in the city since 2011.

The issue for consideration is the remedial measures against contamination of ground water on account of leachate discharge adversely affecting the inhabitants and failure to comply with solid waste management norms, including burning of waste. Foul smell emitted by the garbage dumped is affecting the air quality.

Wildlife and inhabitants are being affected in terms of health by air pollution, by burning of waste or foul smell for which penal action including prosecution and recovery of actual damages are required, apart from remedial measures.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vivek Kamboj & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 01/03/2019 regarding damage to the environment and public health in absence of adequate steps for management of solid waste at Gurgaon in Haryana. According to the original application which was filed before this Tribunal on 16.09.2015, solid waste was being dumped in an open site in Aravali forest. Leachate generated was flowing to the seasonal water bodies contaminating the ground water and polluting the surface water.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vijay Kumar Chugh Vs M/s. Magic Info Solutions Pvt. Ltd. & Others dated 19/02/2019 regarding violation of Environmental Clearance conditions by M/s. Magic Info Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in setting up a housing project at Sector 104, Gurugram. According to the applicant, sewerage was being collected in the collection sump. Sewerage disposal was unscientific. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) water supply was not connected with the project.

The Tribunal also directed that the “action plan” in the matter “be furnished to the Tribunal within three months”.
