Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Monika Srivastava Vs New Okhla Industrial Development Authority & Others dated 26/03/2019 regarding the pollution of the storm water drains in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. According to the applicant, multiple storm water drains are meeting rivers Hindon and Yamuna but the said drains remain cloaked and chocked on account of dumping of garbage, untreated sewage and untreated discharge of effluents. The drains do not have requisite flow and the same are not duly maintained by cleaning.

The NGT directs the CEO, Noida Authority and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (State PCB) to take appropriate action in the matter after ascertaining facts. Further in view of seriousness of violations affecting public health at large, the CEO, Noida may remain present in person with the compliance affidavit on the next date of hearing (05/07/2019).
