Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Residents of Village Rampur, District Sirmaur Vs State of Himachal Pradesh dated 01/07/2019 regarding pollution caused by M/s Valley Iron & Steel Company, Rampur, Majri, Paonta Sahib, District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. The complainant alleges burning of rubber tyres and using of prohibited raw materials in the processes of the unit.

Report submitted by the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) and the District Magistrate, Sirmaur finds emissions are not being properly controlled and extraction of wire from the rubber tyres was causing pollution. The NGT directs that the recommendations given by the Committee in the report be carried out and a status report filed after three months.
