Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anand Vinay Vs State of Karnataka dated 18/09/2019 regarding remedial action against pollution of lake adjacent to NICE (Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises) Express Way in between Tumkur road NH – 4 and Magadi road by untreated sewage and trade effluents. Report filed by the Secretaries of Urban Development and Public Works Department, state of Karnataka and the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) dated December 2018 and April 2019 was twice found to be inadequate and incomplete and the Tribunal had ordered for the submission of a fresh report.

The new report was filed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development, Karnataka which contains a consolidated plan with timelines for restoration of lake and making provision for treatment of sewage and trade effluents. The NGT finds the report satisfactory and disposed of the application saying that at this stage no further order appears to be necessary.
