Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M/s Young Builders Private Ltd. Vs University of Delhi & Others dated 28/01/2020 regarding construction of a group housing complex located at 1 and 3 Cavalry Lane and 4 Chhatra Marg at Civil Lines, adjacent to north campus of Delhi.

M/s Young Builders Private Ltd. filed the application in the apex court aggrieved by the NGT order which directed for an evaluation by the Joint Committee comprising representatives of CPCB, MOEF&CC and IIT Delhi and further directed that the builder shall not carry on further construction and status quo be maintained.

The SC sets aside the NGT order of January 8, 2020 which ordered status quo on construction of the housing complex. The apex court asks NGT to consider the matter on its merits and pass orders in accordance with law and that the same shall be done in an expeditious manner.
