The matter related to pollution by sponge iron industries located in Gundlapotlapally village, Mogiligidha village and Kodicherla village in Rangareddy district.

With regard to the shifting of industries, the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) conducted a meeting on October 14, 2020 with the representatives of the sponge iron industries.

During the meeting, it was decided to complete the process of relocation of industries within an accelerated schedule of 24 months. Thereafter, the sponge iron industries vide letter dated October 19, 2020 informed that they have consulted technical consultants of the sponge iron units and they have said that shifting of the sponge iron units would take minimum of 2 years from the date of allotment of land and infrastructure.
