The appeal was against the order of the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Delhi granting Environmental Clearance (EC) for Group Housing Complex at Civil Lines to Young Builders (P) Ltd. The EC was earlier granted in August 13, 2012 and an application was submitted for amendment of the EC on December 12, 2018.

The NGT was informed by the counsel for the Project Proponent (Young Builders (P) Ltd.) that they would apply for fresh EC to the MoEF&CC and thus the impugned EC would not be acted upon. Counsel for the University of Delhi stated that if the impugned EC was not to be acted upon and the matter would be considered afresh by the MoEF&CC, then the appeal be disposed of.
