Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ajay Bisht Vs State of Uttarakhand & Others dated 03/09/2021. The issue for consideration was compliance of provisions of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980 in the process of construction of a road by the State PWD at Jaminipar, district Almora, Uttarakhand.
The NGT, September 3, 2021 directed the PWD, Uttarakhand to take remedial action and deposit a sum of ₹2,00,000/- as compensation for the violations with the PCCF (HoFF), Uttarakhand. The Forest Department may spend the amount for restoration of the environment in the area.
