Order of the Supreme Court of India regarding sale and bursting of green crackers, West Bengal, 01/11/2021 [1]

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Goutam Roy & Others Vs The State of West Bengal & Others dated 01/11/2021.

The matter related to the sale/bursting/lighting of only green crackers (duly certified) in West Bengal.

The SC directed the concerned authorities to adhere to the orders passed by the court on the issue and asked the state of West Bengal to explore the possibility of ensuring prevention of import of banned fire crackers or related items within the state at the entry point itself. The mechanism has to be strengthened, the order said.
