Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Saleem & Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 04/02/2022. It is said that water and air pollution is caused by a unit (Om Heat Treatment Centre) running in a residential area in Hindon Vihar, Meerut Road, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The plant has not even installed a sewage treatment plant and effluent treatment plant, as a result, the wastewater is directly being discharged into canals and causing water pollution.
The NGT directed a Joint Committee of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and the District Magistrate, Ghaziabad to look into the matter. The Joint Committee would undertake site visit and submit a factual and action taken report within three months.
