Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Bhagwan Padhan Vs M/s Bhushan Power and Steel Limited & Others dated 21/02/2022.

Report filed by Bhushan Power and Steel stated that the unit has carried out plantation over all the five reclaimed dumps and have planted about 1,76,435 no of trees at Derba solid waste disposal site. Constructed 4 new bore wells surrounding the entire disposal site for regular monitoring of groundwater quality. Further, the closure plan of ash mound site at Derba along with proposal for alternative solid waste disposal site will be submitted within one month to the SPCB.

The NGT, February 21, 2022 directed the Odisha State Pollution Control Board to verify the compliances and non compliances as stated in the affidavit of the unit and file a reply within three weeks.
