Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vijay Sharma Vs State of Jharkhand, 22/11/2022.
The steps taken by Bharat Coking Coal Limited for air pollution control at Bhagmara, Jharkhand is inadequate and the project proponent is liable to pay an environmental compensation of Rs. 75,93,750 directed the NGT, November 22.

The matter related to air pollution caused by burning of overburden from the open cast mine at Bhagmara, Dhanbad district.
The court said that the master plan for control of fire and rehabilitation is still under implementation. Some of the equipments for suppression of dust installed by the PP are still not operational and "even if there were historical violations, the PP remain accountable for remedying the same," the order said.
