Kolhapur irrigation Division has completed the work of demarcation of blue and red line in portion of Kolhapur city area as well as from Prayag Chikali to Rukdi of Panchganga river for the total length of 31.34 kms.

The NGT, April 5, 2019 after considering the report received from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) showing failure of Municipal Corporation directed further remedial steps to be taken to demarcate 'red zone' area and stopping polluting activities. The work of interception and diversion of remaining 6 nallas is yet to be completed by the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation and the same is in process under AMRUT scheme.
