A period of two months was granted by the NGT to a joint committee to submit a report on allegations of a residential colony developed by M/s. Megasons Company dumping solid waste and discharging untreated sewage in the open.

The colony approved by Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority was said to be dumping the waste in a ditch dug in main park located in the middle of the residential colony causing foul smell and contamination of groundwater. "The garbage is also dumped on an open plot and burnt and causing air pollution thereby," the application to the NGT said.
