Industries burning copper scrap in RICCO industrial area The National Green Tribunal (NGT) directed a report to be filed on industries in the industrial area operated by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), district Churu, Rajasthan for illegally burning copper scrap during night time. An application was filed by residents of village Bidasar that the improper disposal of copper scrap was releasing poisonous gases, causing serious health hazards and damaging environment.

The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and the District Magistrate, Churu was directed by the court to look into the matter, visit the site, collect relevant information and if any violation is found, remedial action to be taken in accordance with law within two months.
