Action taken by the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) regarding violation of solid waste management rules, 2016 by the Nagar Palika Parishad, Mandideep.
An application was filed before the NGT raising the issue of absence of sanitary landfill for municipal waste generated and collected from Mandideep.

The MPPCP has issued notice for imposing environment compensation of Rs. 60 lakh for the period from July 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022 on the Chief Municipal Officer, Nagar Palika Parishad, Mandideep, district Raisen for violation of Solid Waste Management Rules 2016. The points of non-compliance were the failure to comply with Rule 22 of SWM Rules, 2016 and non remediation of legacy waste.
