Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Neeraj Chhachhar & Others Vs State of Uttarakhand dated 08/05/2023.

Grievance in the application is against illegal construction and causing pollution to river Ganga at Beliram Ashram, Kankhal, Haridwar, Uttrakhand. The NGT vide order dated March 3, 2023 sought a factual report from a joint committee of Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board, National Mission for Clean Ganga and District Magistrate, Haridwar. However, no report has been filed so far.

The NGT, May 8, 2023 directed that the report be filed at the earliest and warned that if there is further default, there may be no option except to take coercive measures. The matter has been listed for further consideration, July 31, 2023.
