Order of the High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam in the matter of Dr C P Abdul Kabeer Vs Union Territory of Lakshadweep & Others dated June 27, 2023.

The counsel for the petitioner pointed out inspite of the directions passed by the court, no steps have been taken by the Lakshadweep administration to engage veterinary doctors to attend to the health of animals, birds in Lakshadweep.

The Kerala High Court, March 30, 2023 had passed an order for making interim arrangements for veterinary surgeons to be made available.

Justice A Muhamed Mustaque and Justice Sophy Thomas of the Kerala High Court, June 27, 2023 warned that if no action was taken to appoint either veterinary doctors as directed by the HC, within three weeks, either by contract or permanent, then the Secretary of Department of Fisheries, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry of Lakshadweep will have to appear in person before the High Court.
