Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Satish Chandra Sharma Vs Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board dated 06/07/2023.

Grievance in the application is against operation of a polythene printing factory in residential area at Jagdish Vihar colony, Rajender Nagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, resulting in air pollution with potential for causing diseases like asthma and cancer, the complainant said. Toxic fumes are released from the factory polluting the environment. No action has been taken inspite of approaching the District Magistrate, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bareilly.

The tribunal directed a joint committee comprising the UPPCB and the District Magistrate, Bareilly to visit the site and interact with stakeholders and furnish a factual and action taken report in the matter within two months.
