The SC, July 10, 2023 gave directions for halting the construction of Tiracol river bridge till further orders.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) in January 2022 had disposed of the application filed by the Goa Foundation, which cleared the way for the construction of the Tiracol bridge on the Querim beach. Goa Foundation had challenged the construction of Tiracol Bridge partly being erected on the Querim beach on the ground that there was violation of CRZ Notification [3] which required prior approval of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA).
