The Goa state legislative assembly passed the Goa Waste Management (Amendment) Bill, 2023. The Bill seeks to amend the existing legislation, The Goa Waste Management Act, 2016, so as to effectively add two provisions – one, to enable Goa Waste Management Corporation to take up consultancy works in waste management projects in India and abroad, and two, for setting up Goa Waste Management Institute in collaboration with an institute of repute or the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship/ Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development, etc.
