Inspection report filed by the Central Pollution Control Board regarding three pharmaceutical industries located in Choutuppal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana, 20/10/2023 [1]

Inspection report filed by the Central Pollution Control Board in the matter of OA No 80/2020 as per the National Green Tribunal order dated 29/08/2023.

The matter is related to alleged pollution by three pharmaceutical industries located in Choutuppal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana.

A team from CPCB, Chennai carried out inspection of the industries. Monitoring and sampling of source emission, fugitive emission, ambient air quality (VOC) and wastewater sampling was done.

The groundwater (bore well and piezo metric well) analysis report showed that there was no impact in the water quality due to operation of these industries and same was also concluded in the joint committee report of other state departments of Telangana constituted by District administration, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and also in the report of CSIR – National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI). Out of three Industries two industries - M/s Srini Pharmaceuticals ltd and M/s Maruti Cottex Ltd. were found non-compliant with respect to discharge of effluent on land, nonsegregation of effluent, improper operation of ETP, non-connectivity of flow meter among others. The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) should take necessary action against the industries for ensuring zero liquid discharge (ZLD) said the CPCB report.
