Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Naresh Vashisth Vs Union of India & Others dated 08/04/2025.

Issue raised in the application is encroachment of land of village Amer which comes under reserved forest and "Vankhand Amer-54 of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary."

The Assistant Conservator of Forest Nahargarh vide order dated May 26, 2023 and September 1, 2023 has issued directions to the Regional Forest Officer, Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary to remove the encroachment by the private parties but the same has not been done till date. Thus, the application has been moved with the prayer for issue of direction to stoppage of illegal construction and non-forest activities within the wildlife sanctuary.

Respondents which included the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; State of Rajasthan, through Additional Chief Secretary of Forest and Wildlife; Collector, Jaipur district to submit their reply. In addition the NGT directed for the submission of a report from a four member joint committee. The committee has been directed to visit the site and submit the factual and action taken report.
