Compliance affidavit on behalf of Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board in the matter of M C Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 12/04/2025.
The UKPCB, April 9, 2025 issued show cause directions under Sec 33A of the Water Act against the Managing Director, Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam and General Manager, Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan who are agencies responsible for maintenance and operation of the STPs. As per the effluent analysis reports of STPs in the months of January, 2023 to February, 2024, it has been revealed that most of the STPs are not complying with the standards of outlet discharge.
