Govt may rejig duties to curb rise in fuel prices [1]

The government on Wednesday decided to examine the option of rejigging the customs duty regime for crude, in order to cushion consumers from the impact of high global oil prices. The move comes a day after import levies were scrapped on edible oils and forms part of an all-out effort to tackle the mounting cost of living when early elections look a probability.
