Japanese electronic giant Casio has come up with the world's first wristwatch-style camera. WQV-1, as it is called, weighs just 32 grammes and can take black and white pictures through a tiny lens which is fitted on one side and can store up to 100 images. The pictures taken can then be displayed on a small LCD on the watch face or it can be transferred to a computer for viewing. They can also be wiped so the camera can be reused. The watch was on display at the recently-held Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA ( New Scientist , Vol 165, No 2221).
