Additional image::

A new bird species has been spotted in Nepal. The Moustached Warbler (Acrocephalus melanopogon) was recently sighted at the Shukla Phanta wildlife reserve in eastern Nepal. The latest find increases the total species of birds found in Nepal to 859.

A team of ornithologists spotted three members of the species. They aver that a larger colony inhabits the area. The Moustached Warbler belongs to the Sylviidae family. It has a distinctive broad white brow, dark eye stripes and a white streak on the head and back. According to bird experts, the avian's call was louder than any other warbler found in the reserve. The birds have also been spotted in India and Pakistan during winter. They breed in small numbers in the northern areas of the subcontinent.
