The Punjab assembly yesterday passed resolutions recommending the protection and re-digging of village ponds and a ban on the use of polythene bags as well as the burning of wheat and paddy stubbles in the state.
The House included the recommendation to ban polythene bags in the very last minute of discussion on the interjection of BJP minister Tikshan Sood.
