SAMBALPUR: Though Sambalpur town is located on the downstream of the Hirakud dam reservoir on the banks of the river Mahanadi, many parts of the town are facing acute water shortage over the last one week. Water level in the river has gone down and a breach has been made in the barrage to hold water.
