Police resorted to mild lathicharge to quell violence as the ruckus over felling a tree for road widening snowballed into a clash in Pathabagepalli village of the taluk on Friday.
An undeclared curfew prevails in the tension-gripped village where a platoon of armed police has been stationed,in addition to local police.
