The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has identified 11 stretches in 12 states in the country for setting up high-speed six- to eight-lane expressways in the country in the first phase of its plan. The stretches so far identified add up to a total length of 3,530 km and would be built at a cost exceeding Rs 20,000 crore as per the plan prepared by the ministry.
