While villagers and environmental activists at Jaitapur, in Maharashtra, protest against the proposed 9,900-MW nuclear power plants, questioning the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) said the sheer scale of present development along Konkan coast needs to be looked in totality.
There are at least 15 proposed coal-fired power projects equaling 25 GW
