The structural composition of State economy has undergone significant changes since the formation of Haryana State. Agriculture Sector still continues to occupy a significant position in State economy, although the share of this sector in the GSDP is continuously declining. The predominance of Agriculture Sector is also responsible for instability in the growth rate of economy due to fluctuations in agricultural production. Natural calamities and fluctuations in rainfall often cause
substantial loss in crop production which eventually results in fluctuations and instability in growth rate of State economy.
